General Settings
If, you are in your knowledge base, click on the General Settings link on the left. This screen
provides many necessary configuration options that you must set before your KB is ready for public
viewing. You can decide whether or not you want your comments to go through administrative
approval before being published. There are also 3 layouts that you can choose from for your knowledge
base. You can use our directory, classic template, or revolved.
You can choose whether or not to show a number of features through General Settings including:
most recent, most viewed, related articles, author, last modified date, ID, and number of views. You
can also set a number of permissions allowing users: ratings, commenting, emailing articles, using
save features, and printing.
Archive
You can keep your knowledge base up-to-date without sacrificing older articles even as new articles
supplant the older ones. This is useful, if for example, older articles are still relevant to a portion of
your users unaffected by changes documented in recent articles. You can set up a cut off for when
articles are moved into an archival category.
Be sure to set up one of your categories as archive before using this feature. To access this feature
click the Archive link on the left and under KB Settings. Type in the date and use the dropdown
menu to locate your archive folder. Next, click on Submit.
