Widget is a portable chunk of code that can be installed and executed within the designated sections of ActiveCampaign products. To obtain widgets, consult our article on where to find widgets.
The procedure to install a widget in ActiveCampaign products that support widgets is simple:
unpack the widget ZIP file you have obtained
you will find the folder named similar to the widget you have downloaded
upload this folder into your application's /widgets/ folder
log into the application as main administrator ("admin" user)
go to Administration (or Settings) => Widgets page
you should see the newly added widget in the "Available Widgets" section
your widget is now installed
NOTE:Installing a widget doesn't automatically show it. You will need to add a widget to your application's designated widget area first.
How to Show a Widget
The procedure to show the widget within the application is simple:
log into the application as main administrator ("admin" user)
go to Administration (or Settings) => Widgets page
you should see the widget in the "Available Widgets" section
drag'n'drop the widget into the Used Widgets section
the widget configuration screen will open, and will let you configure that widget instance
you will be able to set a title of that widget box, as well as in which bars (designated areas within the application) it can be shown
click save, and your widget will start displaying in those areas
NOTE:Every time you add a widget to a bar, you are creating an instance of that widget for that area. If you wish to add multiple instances of a same widget, repeat the Show a Widget procedure and drag the same widget into the Used Widgets area again.
